Chhaya is fundraising for Love Suport Unite in Malawi

Love Support Unite and Tilinanu Orphanage

LSU are more than just a charity; they are a family network to their volunteers and the communities that they are working with. The work that they carry out in Malawi is long term and sustainable – and not just a quick fix to problems that could arise again without continued support (which is often the case of other charities).

Tilinanu Orphanage is the heart and soul of Love Support Unite and the home of 34 girls. Established by Mercy and Benson Mkandawire in 2002, Tilinanu Orphanage is a Community Based Organization within Malawi.

Emergency Dental Care and Oral Health Education

Chhaya will be travelling to Tilinanu Orpanage and their local dental centre. Their dental unit is in need of materials, instruments and sterilising equipment and, because of this, the treatment they currently offer is very basic.

Chhaya is hoping to see as many girls and adults from out of reach areas for dentistry and hopes to carry out emergency care such as extractions and fillings. Chhaya also hopes to reach out and offer oral health education and prevention techniques. 

She hopes to raise enough money to take extra medical supplies for this treatment and to give out as many free toothbrushes and toothpastes as she can. These items need to be purchased and can also be heavy and occupy luggage space.
